This video is from Beyonce's most recent self titled album. This video has made an impact on me because it is something different that she has never achieved before. This video consists of a compilation of mini shots of Beyonce. This video is classy and sensual, which is rare in music videos these days.
Mise-en-Scene- In this video Beyonce's costume changes constantly. However one thing that is common between all her costume changes is her lack of clothing. She is revealing a lot of her skin in this video and connotes that she is an artist who is comfortable in her own skin and confident enough to display her body. The colour of the whole music video is in greyscale, lack and white. The colours are not harsh and bright, yet are soft and calming which adds to the sensuality and relaxation to the song.
Camera Language- In this video there are numerous varieties of camera shots, angles and movements. There are a lot of pans and tilts that move across Beyonce's body to reveal her skin to the viewer. A low angle is used a couple of times which creates the view that Beyonce is a dominant and independant artist. The most common camera shot used is the close up which is used to display Beyonce's features in depth.
Editting- There are a lot of long takes in the beginning and middle section of this music video. This allows the viewer to analyse every inch of the screen and Beyonce. This reduces the amount of cuts which distort the relaxation. However towards the end where the music reaches it's climax, there are a lot of quick cuts between shots which engages the viewer more as it picks up the pace.

Arctic Monkeys- R U Mine
This is the Video from the Arctic Monkeys most recent Album 'AM'. This video has made the most impact on me because first of all it is one of my most favourite songs. Also the simplicity of the video makes it interesting to watch as it allows the viewer to ask questions such as where are they driving.
Mise-en-scene- The whole video is in black and white however is a more darker, harsh tone compared to Beyonce- Rockets. This darkness is portrayed in the song and the genre of music- rock. The music video is set at night and relies on artificial light from the handheld video camera and the lights outside.\The actors in this video is the band members.
Camera Language- It is handheld and the video camera is being used and moved around by the band members. There are mid shots to display the faces of the band members and long shots used when Alex gets out of the car. The variety of camera shots make the music video more interesting because it displays different views on the appearance of the band.
Editing- The majority of the video is shot in one take apart from the cuts used at the very start and end of the video. This makes the video more fluid and allows the viewer to pay more attention to the detail of this video.
Seinabo Sey- Hard Time
Seinabo Sey is soul singer from Sweden. This song 'Hard Time' is her second single and she is a new upcoming artist. This video has impacted me because it is dark and mysterious. There is a lot of things going on which makes me want to watch the video again to see every detail that I might of missed before.
Mise-en-scene- The video is in a dark, desaturated, dull colour. Throughout at some points numerous other colours are introduced, however the colours are generally gloomy and off. This creates a sinister feeling towards the artist and the video. The actors in this music video make it very interesting. There is a cat woman dancing weirdly, an old woman hypnotising the artist and a group of women smoking and dancing. When watching the video it is a bit confusing as women are not usually portrayed in such a dull manner. However I believe this is the reason why I find this video so effective.
Camera- There are many camera shots, movements and angles. These camera shots are vital in order to display as much as possible. There are a numerous amount of shots including close ups of the artists and long shots of the group of women. The movement of the camera is not smooth yet gritty which connotes the artist music genre and voice.
Editing- There are not a lot of long takes. There are quick, sharp, abrupt cuts which create a tense and gritty feel to the music video. The constant cuts distort the fluidity of the shots which gives rhe music video an edge that many music videos these days lack.
Childish Gambino- 3005
3005 is the single from Childish Gambino's debut Album 'Because the Internet'. This video will always be one of my favourite videos. It is all one take and is so simple yet so effective. Little things change in the video that you don't notice until the very end and I believe this video is very effective and just catches my attention.
Mise-en-scene- The colours in this video are very colourful and warm. It is set in a funfair on a Ferris wheel and the lighting is bright and clear. The location, lighting and colour connotes the artists behaviour as childish and young.
Camera Language- There is only one camera shot type used throughout which is a mid shot of the artists and a teddy. There are pans and tilts used to film the outside view of the ferris wheel to allow the audience to see what the artist is seeing and to let time pass.
Editing- This whole video is filmed with one take and required no editing. It has fluidity and a smooth finish.
Bombay Bicycle Club- Luna
This is a video from Bombay Bicycle's second album 'So long see you tomorrow'. This video has impacted me because it is so colourful and jolly, it makes me smile. They are one of my favourite Indie bands and this is one of the videos I like to watch to make me happy.
Mise-en-scene- The location of this video is set in a swimming pool. The band are not featured in the video however a group of synchronized swimmers performing to the music. This has not really been attempted so I really applaud this video.
Camera Language- There are a variety of camera shots. Long shots are used to display the designs that the synchronised swimmers are achieving and close ups are used on the swimmers smiling faces to add brightness and a jolly feel to the video.
